Hate Eternal announce their new permanent drummer will be Jade Simonetto.

But before you hear what guitarist/vocalist Erik Rutan has to say, check out this video of "The Victorious Reign" from

2005's I, Monarch

"Jade and I have been working together for 6 months or so and his incredible skill and dedication to extreme drumming and groove has made him the perfect drummer for Hate Eternal," says Rutan. "We gel on everything from all the old songs to the new and the creativity process has been amazing working with Jade on the new songs, so much diversity and signature drumming to the melodies and riffs.

We have been in the middle of pre-production right now for weeks and will be doing pre-production until the end of August and then start recording the drums tracks for our new album! I am super excited about the new material and Alex (Webster of Cannibal Corpse) is coming up with some incredible bass lines!!! This album is covering a lot more ground than previously and I am excited to be jamming with Jade and Alex and a surprise is in the works! A lot more groove and diversity in an extreme way. We will record and mix between now and October with an early 2008 release on Metal Blade Records. I will keep you all updated!!"

On June 19, 2007, we caught up with Jared Warren from Big Business at the Knitting Factory in New York City, where he and bandmate Coady Willis were headlining a show with Panthers and Hull.

After the bassist wrapped up soundcheck we retired to the backstage "lounge," cracked a few brews and discussed the finer points of his musical pedigree, Big Biz's connection to Tool and the Melvins, and the challenges of being a two-piece. Check out the interview below.

On May 18, 2007, MetalKult caught up with bloodsimple at their studios in New York's East Village as the metallic hardcore band was rehearsing some tracks off its upcoming release, Red Harvest.

After shooting the band's rehearsal of "Dark Helmet," MetalKult sat down with bloodsimple for a candid Q&A on their history, sound and Red Harvest. The result of that conversation is captured in the clips below:

Savannah sludge-rockers KYLESA have offered an update on the band from home:

"We're happy to announce that our video for 'Hollow Severer' will be airing on MTV2's Headbanger's Ball very soon," guitarist/singer Laura Pleasants says. "You can view it now on

YouTube. When viewed on Headbanger's Ball in the context of other heavy music videos, I think that our video will offer something a little different than the average live footage video. The depiction of the narration is abstracted and literal with the use of simple claymation and an overall raw energy is captured by David and Allie of My Good Eye [Goatwhore, The Acacia Strain]. They were great and easy to work with and we hope to work with them again in the future.

"In general news, we've toured pretty heavily the past few months supporting our latest release, Time Will Fuse its Worth, and everything went rather well. We've got a few shows starting today with awesome bands [Torche, Made Out Of Babies and Mouth Of The Architect], but we plan on taking some time off to write new material as we have a few projects coming up. Fun, creative projects, so stay in touch and we'll keep you updated."

Having already toured alongside Genghis Tron, The Hidden Hand, Lacuna Coil, Modern Life Is War and Converge as well as appearing at Los Angeles Murderfest 3.0 and South By Southwest, KYLESA continues to support Time Will Fuse Its Worth.

MetalKult is stoked about Fas – Ite, Maledicti, in Ignem Aeternvm (Ajna), the newest album from French black metal recluses Deathspell Omega. While Deathspell rarely give interviews, one can be found

here.

Below is a statement from their stateside label, Ajna Offensive:

The mighty Deathspell Omega returns. Their first release of new material since 2005's Kenose, Fas – Ite, Maledicti, in Ignem Aeternvm is conceptually the direct successor of Si Monvmentvm Reqvires, Circvmspice. It is centred on the notion of divine will, on the seed of perdition that is ontologically a part of Man and therefore of immanent judgement. Musically, it is a very dense album of a technical nature, where violence and dissonance blend into a merciless result, of such nature that it literally kills hope.

Fas... offers yet another step forward in the evolution of the world's most foreboding and impressive progressive black metal band. Musically, it is a league on its own. Black Metal, certainly, but it goes far beyond.

Formats: 6 panel digipak with 20 page booklet; gatefold LP with 20 page booklet and poster!

On Friday, June 1, 2007, Emperor's Ihsahn and Samoth arrived in the Guitar World/MetalKult offices in New York for an extensive interview on the inner workings of their notorious black metal band

(the result is featured in Guitar World's October issue).

The two guitarists were in town to play B.B. Kings in Times Square—one of only three shows the Norwegian group would play in the States. (Click here to watch a live video of "Curse You All Men!" from that show.)

After a long interview, lesson and photo shoot, Samoth—who caught a sinister head cold on the flight over from Norway—politely excused himself to prepare for the show.

But the surprisingly genial and candid Ihsahn graciously stuck around to talk with MetalKult about a range of topics, including the motivation behind his group's early diabolical image, his feelings on Faust and Samoth's incarcerations and how he managed to avoid trouble in Norway's treacherous Nineties black metal scene.

Check this out. You won't be disappointed.
