Philip H. Anselmo and horror icon Bill Moseley ('Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2,' 'House of 1000 Corpses,' 'Devil's Rejects,' etc.) have partnered up for musical project Bill + Phil. The duo have released the full stream of their forthcoming EP, 'Songs of Darkness and Despair,' which can be heard at this location.

'Songs of Darkness and Despair' is due on January 20 via Housecore Records. Produced and performed by Anselmo and Stephen "The Big Fella" Berrigan (Down, Eyehategod, Philip H. "Working with Mr. Moseley was an awesome experience!" Exclaimed Anselmo. "Bill brought the lyrics and Stephen [Berrigan] and I just improvised directly on the spot, and squeezed out six tunes in three days. All the songs have a different vibe because I wanted the music to represent Bill's lyrical vision(s), and we needed to, because Bill does indeed have a unique, visual element within his choice of words and phrasing. I love Bill Moseley, and can't wait to work on the next one! Be cool and enjoy this one!"

Obituary have dropped "Sentence Day," the first single from their forthcoming self-titled album, along with an accompanying music video which features a compilation of photos taken by fans during the band's most recent world tour. The song and video can be streamed below.

"We could not be any more excited about this new album,' the band said in a statement. "We had a blast writing and recording it and having Ken and Terry as part of the writing process was a very cool experience for all of us. We really took our time with the writing process of these new songs, recording riffs and ideas as we went along and recording them as rough mixes then listening back and making necessary changes to help mold them into the songs that we are extremely proud of.

"It's always a challenge in the studio to get the song ideas out of your head onto the recording the way you want but we made sure we were comfortable with the songs and the sounds we were getting before we even hit the record button and it made it a great experience. It's hard to believe it's been 2 1/2 years since the release of inked in blood and we are so excited to get this new album into the hands of our fans. Can't wait for everyone to hear it, hang on to your ass!!!!"

Strauss said, "As a guitar player, even though I've always played in bands, most of my heroes have been solo players like Vai, Satriani, Jason Becker, and of course the great Jennifer Batten, just to name a few. I am beyond excited to take my first step into the instrumental guitar world that I've always loved so much, and do it with the awesome players on this compilation."

'She Rocks, Vol.1'  is a collection of guitar goddesses that showcases 11 female guitarists (Orianthi, Yasi Hofer, Kat Dyson, Sarah Longfield, Lita Ford, Jennifer Batten, Nita Strauss, Steph Paynes, Nili Brosh, Gretchen Menn, and Yvette Young), each a virtuoso in her own right. The compilation will be released on January 20 via Steve Vai's own Favored Nations Label, and in cooperation with the Women's International Music Network, hosts of the  She Rocks Awards.

California-based deathcore act So This Is Suffering will release its new album, 'Palace of the Pessimist,' on February 24 via Unique Leader. In anticipation, the band has teamed up with Revolver to premiere its new song and music video, "Columbine." Check it out below and let us know what you think in the comments!

Vocalist Rudy Flores said, "Don't praise your illusions that feast, eating away illusive sympathy. Hollow, deceitful, agony. Degrading the lives of humanity ...Question everything, and understand that the truth is ugly as fuck. Don't be a part of the corrupted corporate machine. Free your mind. The video captures how easily humans are influenced to lose it all over an obsessiveness. We chose the title 'Columbine' because we want people to realize that their perspective can be askew. When you hear Columbine, you feel tragedy and fear. When in reality it's just a flower; a beautiful creation. We want to thank 1st Degree Entertainment for always bringing the magic out of So This Is Suffering. And the gorgeous Jordyn Conway for her role in the video. She brought the evilness in the video."

British rock outfit As Lions will be dropping their debut full-length LP, 'Selfish Age,' on January 20 via Better Noise Records. In anticipation of the release, the band has teamed up with Revolver to premiere the lyric video for their brand new song, "Bury My Dead." The song and video can be streamed below.

"'Bury My Dead' is a song about leaving your past behind you," commented As Lions singer Austin Dickinson. It's very close to my chest because, in starting As Lions and beginning this new adventure, there were a lot of things that I had to leave behind, both as a musician and as a person. I think the same can be said for all people, in all walks of life. In our existence, the only constant is change and sometimes we have to say that final goodbye to the burdens that can no longer teach us or push us. That's one of the many ways in which we grow. I had so much fun writing this, and I truly hope you enjoy blasting it too!"

'Selfish Age' can pre-ordered via iTunes, Amazon and Google Play. Exclusive album pre-order merchandise bundles are available at the band's official webstore.

YouTuber Rob Scallon is no stranger to taking the least metal instruments and creating brutal music with them. In his most recent installment, the musician writes a metal song by using a theremin, the first ever electronic instrument invented, which is played without using hands. You have to see it to believe it!

The song, which is called "Jeckyl and Hyde," can be streamed below. The track will appear on Rob Scallon's forthcoming album, "The Scene Is Dead," which is set for a January 30 release.
