Alice in Chains: See Corey Taylor, Taylor Hawkins, Dave Navarro Cover "Man In the Box" in 2020

Slipknot, Foo Fighters, Jane's Addiction members united to pay tribute to the grunge legends

On December 1, 2020, the Museum of Pop Culture held its annual benefit as a live stream, honoring grunge legends Alice In Chains. The show featured a performance from Alice In Chains themselves, as well as several other performances of Alice In Chains songs by other artists. One of the standout performances took place in the form of a supergroup featuring Slipknot's Corey Taylor, Foo Fighters' Taylor Hawkins, and Jane's Addiction's Dave Navarro and Chris Chaney, who took on the band's 1990 hit "Man In the Box."

The group captures the heaviness and crunch of the original, with Navarro leaning hard on the wah-wah riffs and Taylor offering his soaring vocal range that does justice to Layne Staley's own performance while remaining distinctive. As tributes go, it's pretty badass and a hell of a lot of fun to watch. Check it out via YouTube above.

"MoPOP, thank you, you guys are rad," Hawkins says just before the group's performance. "And it's killer that you guys are honoring Alice In Chains, because they're rad too."
