Last night (June 10th) at the Kia Forum in L.A., Avenged Sevenfold played the triumphant kickoff show of their North American Life Is but a Dream... tour, and the first of two special album release concerts, the second to follow on June 23rd at New York's Madison Square Garden.
NOFX frontman Fat Mike's new band Codefendants and Ronnie Radke's lightning-rod project Falling in Reverse opened the concert, but the night belonged to the headliners, of course.
M. Shadows and Co. did not disappoint, tearing through an epic 16-song set complete with the live debuts of multiple new songs: specifically, "Mattel" and Life Is but a Dream...'s climactic trilogy "G," "(O)rdinary" and "(D)eath." A7X also played "The Stage" for the first time in five years and unveiled their new stage production, complete with massive backing projections.
