On Saturday (November 3rd), Polish extremists Behemoth took their headlining "Ecclesia Diabolica America 2018 e.v." tour to NYC's PlayStation Theater, joined by Cascadian black-metal crew Wolves in the Throne Room and Swedish melodic-death-metal pioneers At the Gates. Needless to say, it was not a time for fun and games. ATG had the pit raging with cuts from their seminal Slaughter of the Soul LP, as well as choice bangers from their two recent reunion albums. Revolver cover stars Behemoth, meanwhile, brought a grim and ritualistic vibe, hailing the dark lord from behind suffocating waves of dense smoke and chaotic riffage. Our own Creative Director, Jimmy Hubbard, was there to catch all the action.
