Following a July 18th motorcycle accident, Bob Otis — the vocalist of the seminal Rhode Island political hardcore band Dropdead — has been left severely battered with six broken ribs, multiple lacerations, bruises and more. The accident, which happened in his native Providence, took place when Otis braked on an oil and detergent slick near a car wash. It's the second time that Otis has been in a major accident in recent years after suffering a rear-end collision that resulted in intensive back surgery.

Though Otis has health insurance, the basics of his plan will reportedly set him back $30,000 in total, which led Dropdead guitarist Ben Barnett to create a GoFundMe page to help out his bandmate. Currently at approximately $7,000 of the $15,000 goal, the GoFundMe is open, so please give what you can.

"Now he will be unable to work again for an unknown amount of time, and the bills will keep coming," Barnett wrote on the GoFundMe page. "We're not even sure yet if the accident did any damage to his not 100% healed back surgery. That we won't know for another couple weeks.

"When I went to see Bob Friday in the hospital, this friend of mine that has never asked for help like this, told me that he and Kaleigh need some help.

"I'm setting the goal at $15,000 currently as I believe that there are a ton of people out there that care for him. All the people that love Bob in Providence, all the people we have met across the world with Dropdead over the years, all the people Bob has touched through acts of kindness ... I know we have some friends out there."
