Love 'em or hate 'em, BABYMETAL are one of the most unique and genre-invigorating metal bands of the 21st century.

Across their four albums of quasar-blasting kawaii metal, the trio — currently made up of SU-METAL, MOAMETAL and MOMOMETAL — have redefined what a heavy-music band could look and sound like, and they've captured audiences across the globe.

We asked Revolver readers to pick the single greatest Babymetal song of them all. See the top five vote-getters ranked accordingly below.

5. "Kingslayer"

It's true, "Kingslayer" isn't technically BABYMETAL's song. The tantalizingly catchy tune is a collaboration with Bring Me the Horizon that appears on the U.K. band's 2020 EP, POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR.

However, given that SU-METAL appears on more than half the song, and it prominently features the kawaii-metal band's signature sound, BABYMETAL fans consider it a part of the group's discography. Given the sheer number of votes it received, we let it slide despite the technicality.

4. "Arkadia"

"Arkadia" is definitely a BABYMETAL jam, and a great one at that. The closer from 2019's Metal Galaxy features epic, acrobatic soloing that wouldn't sound out of place on a Dragonforce album.

Moreover, its chorus almost has a hymnal quality to its melody, filling your ears with the spirit of BABYMETAL's perky power metal. It rules.

3. "Road of Resistance"

"Road of Resistance" is such a definitive cut that BABYMETAL released it twice. This chuggy, scream-laden banger was initially included as a bonus track on the international reissue of their self-titled debut, but then reappeared as the opening track on the group's next album, Metal Resistance.

That would be a serious faux-pas for most bands, but "Road of Resitance" is so goddamn exhilarating and catchy that BABYMETAL fans are happy to hear it again and again and again.

2. "Karate"

The song that follows "Road to Resistance" on Metal Resistance is even better, at least according to our readers. "Karate" is a djenty, hooky gem that launched BABYMETAL onto U.S. rock radio and helped establish their international following.

Eight years onward, its elastic groove feels right in-line with the nu-metal nostalgia that's permeated the last few years of heavy music, so it's easy to see why it's still on the top of fans' hearts and minds.

1. "Megitsune"

Next to the viral smash "Gimme Chocolate!!," which surprisingly didn't crack the top five in this poll, "Megitsune" is one of BABYMETAL's most popular songs, with nearly 50 million Spotify streams to date.

Even if you don't care for the band's neon-colored surges, you can't deny the innovation and swagger of a tune like "Megitsune," which swings for the clouds with its chipper melodies and crashes through the earth with its concussive breakdowns.

Our readers think it's BABYMETAL's single best song — so far.
