Foo Fighters have released their first statement since the death of their drummer Taylor Hawkins, who suddenly died last Friday March 25th at the age of 50. In a brief post shared on their social media pages, the surviving members wrote that they're canceling all upcoming tour dates and taking time to grieve the loss of their dear friend and bandmate.

"It is with great sadness that Foo Fighters confirm the cancellation of all upcoming tour dates in light of the staggering loss of our brother Taylor Hawkins," the band wrote. "We're sorry for and share in the disappointment that we won't be seeing one another as planned.

Instead, let's take this time to grieve, to heal, to pull our loved ones close, and to appreciate to appreciate all the music and memories we've made together. With love, Foo Fighters."

The band were previously set for an extensive year of touring, including two U.S. runs of dates and a busy run throughout Europe, the U.K. and Australia. Understandably, all of those have been put on hold indefinitely. See the band's statement below via their Twitter.
