Hear Australian hardcore crew SPEED's new ripper "REAL LIFE LOVE"

Off forthcoming 'ONE MODE ONLY' album

It's been a long time coming, but much-hyped Australian hardcore force Speed are finally set to release their first full-length album. The band's debut LP is titled ONLY ONE MODE, and it's being teased with a hard-hitting pre-release single called "REAL LIFE LOVE."

The Sydney beatdown crew come out swingin' from the jump, with mean-muggin' mosh riffs aplenty and lyrics about weeding out the fakers in their inner circle.

The video — co-directed by Speed vocalist Jem Siow and his friends Jack Rudder and Thomas Elliott — proves that some things will never die for hardcore kids: hangin' with the crew, rolling through the streets in your smoked-out ride, and brass-knuckled, face-crushing NYHC riffs. That and two-stepping across a video-shoot soundstage.

You can check out some "REAL LIFE LOVE" up above.

"My time in hardcore has informed the relationships I have with everyone I hold close. An unconditional sense of love and loyalty. A bond that knows no words. Relationships that now span a lifetime," Siow explained of the song. "To us, this unique sense of deep-seated understanding is the essence of HC, it's what we're most passionate about and grateful for."

ONLY ONE MODE follows the band's demo releases and 2022's Gang Called Speed EP. The album drops July 12th via Flatspot Records in the U.S., and Last Ride Records in their native Australia. You can pick up an exclusive colored vinyl variant of the LP, limited to 300, from Revolver's shop.

Speed just kicked off a run of U.S. dates supporting Knocked Loose. You can see the full details of the spring trek over here.
