For the past few months, Babymetal have been hinting at new music, announcing fresh chapters of their web series and an upcoming world tour, as well as their own record label. Today those suspicions were confirmed, as the kawaii-metal juggernaut has released a new single, "Distortion." The song is undeniably fun, mixing in metalcore-like chug-riffs in with extremely catchy choruses, shifting in between heavy and sugary at a breakneck pace. Fittingly, the music video for the cut is intricate and epic, showing some kind of warrior fighting against giant, scary-looking figures cloaked in shadows, summoning spells to fight back the darkness.
