Last month, Devildriver finally announced their new album Dealing With Demons Vol. II, the follow-up and companion piece to their last studio last studio full-length, 2020's Dealing With Demons Vol. I. We already heard the album's black-metal-infused lead single, "Through the Depths," and today (April 11th), Dez Fafara and Co. are back with another new heavy-hitter called "If Blood is Life."
It hits right in the center of the band's groove-metal sweet spot, and it comes paired with a music video that features live footage of the band — who recently added two new members, guitarist Alex Lee and drummer Davier Pérez, and reintroduced bassist Jon Miller, who rejoined last year. "Shadows of the future, ghosts of your past walking the floor — why do these things haunt us as humans, when we should be focused on the fact that, like the chorus says, 'Time, it waits for no one. Time, it's worth the taking,'" Fafara mused in a statement. "Learn to focus on the now, the here, the present."
