Gone Is Gone — the alt-metal supergroup featuring Mastodon's Troy Sanders, Queens of the Stone Age's Troy Van Leeuwen and At the Drive-In's Tony Hajjar — have been relatively quiet since the 2017 release of their Phantom Limb EP. The band dropped a striking, surreal music video for the EP's title track last year, and have played a few shows since, including a recent performance in Hamburg, Germany. Now, they've finally offered some full-fledged new music, in the form of the standalone single "No One Ever Walked on Water." Spacey and atmospheric, the song leans into the group's mellower, more Pink Floydian inclinations, with Sanders whisper-crooning of colors and light amid shimmering waves of feedback and atop a cool, strutting beat.
