Light This City have shared "Terminal Bloom," the full-throttle, no-bullshit title track from the Californians' highly-anticipated fifth album — their first full-length in over a decade. Whereas the record's insidiously catchy first single, "A Grotesque Reflection," saw the bruisers taking their sound in a melodic new direction, "Terminal Bloom" abides by the harsh orthodoxy of the Bay Area, channeling the spirit of their thrash- and death-metal forebears.
"'Terminal Bloom' is one of the heavier songs on the album, with basically zero melody — just pure thrash!" drummer Ben Murray explains. "We wanted to release a total banger for the second single to show our fans the diversity of heaviness within the record, and I think this one represents the influences we drive from classic Bay Area thrash and death metal. The song is definitely a ripper, and an unrelenting example of the pace of the album. We hope you enjoy it! Turn it up loud."
Terminal Bloom hits shelves May 25th via Light This City's own Creator-Destructor label. The group has a handful of West Coast dates coming up; find those below.
