Tonight (April 28th), after two years of pandemic-related delays, Nine Inch Nails finally played their first show since December 2018. The gig served as the kickoff for a busy spring and summer of tour dates and festival appearances, and marked the first time Trent Reznor and Co. have taken the stage in front of an IRL audience in nearly four years.
The show went down in Raleigh, North Carolina, with coed EBM duo Boy Harsher opening, and fans naturally had their cameras at the ready to capture the industrial titans' momentous return. NIN looked and sounded great by all reports, and the setlist was loaded with both hits and deep cuts from throughout their catalog, including the live debut of the band's cover of David Bowie's "Fashion," which was previously premiered as a socially distanced performance at 2021's all-star "A David Bowie Celebration: Just for One Day!" event.
