Ozzy Osbourne and Lemmy Kilmister were longtime friends and collaborators all the way up until the Motörhead icon passed away in 2015. To this day, the mighty Lemmy still has a special place in Ozzy's heart, and in a new interview with Metal Hammer, the Great Ozz shared some details about the singer-bassist that were previously undisclosed. For one, he revealed what the notoriously candid Lemmy considered to be his favorite Ozzy solo album, and then unveiled some existential musings that Lemmy told him when he was at the end of his life battling cancer.

"I think about Lemmy all the fucking time," Ozzy said. "He was a great guy. He'd go, 'That record you just made was fucking shit,' or 'I really like that one'. His favorite [line] was, 'Your best record was No More Tears' — yeah, because you wrote on it, you cunt!"

Hysterical. Then, Ozzy opened up about a conversation he had with Lemmy about how proud he was of the way he chose to live his life.

"I went down to South America and he was there on tour, but he was so fucked he couldn't speak to anyone," Ozzy remembered. "He was sitting at the front, skinny as a rake. He was riddled with cancer at the end, but mind you, he turned around to me and said 'I'm probably going to die, I suppose. Never thought I'd make 70, so I did good.'"

"His exact words were, 'I could have lived a lot longer and taken care of myself, but I lived my life the way I want to live and I ain't got no regrets'. Fair enough!"

Fuckin' admirable. Ozzy's new album Patient No. 9 is now available for order on vinyl and CD at the Revolver shop.
