It's been six long years since Queens of the Stone Age dropped a new album on us, 2017's Villains, but it looks like that drought is finally about to come to an end. In a social media post on Monday, the Josh Homme-led band teased, "It's our special week!" along with snake and classical building emojis.

Today (May 9th), the group offered up 10 second of what appears to be a new song, along with a video clip featuring a topless woman with a tambourine in her hand and a serpent on her shoulder as she eyes a burning globe. The caption reads: "The World's Gonna End." Watch and listen below.

The teaser clip comes as rumors circulate on the Queens of the Stone Age Reddit board about a possible album title, cover art and tracklist. The band has yet to confirm any of the alleged details, however.

In other QOTSA goings-on, Homme and Co. are scheduled to hit the road for a run of dates kicking off May 26th at the Sonic Temple festival in Columbus, Ohio. Stay tuned.
