'Metalocalypse' co-creator participated in Musicians Institute Conversation Series

It's been a massive few years for Metalocalypse co-creator Brendon Small, culminating in 2023 with the long-awaited return of his band Dethklok with a big comeback album (Dethalbum IV), movie (Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar) and tour (the excellently titled Babyklok Tour with Babymetal). The comeback continues in 2024 with the Mutilation on a Spring Night trek — also featuring DragonForce and Nekrogoblikon — which kicked off last night.

Small talked about all this and more back in March when he visited the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California, to discuss his life's work.

As part of MI's new Conversation Series with Revolver, Small went in-depth with host Ryan Downey about his journey becoming a musician, comedian, TV series creator and filmmaker. He discussed Dethklok's storied history, including last year's momentous, multi-pronged comeback. In addition to chopping it up with Downey, Small also took questions from the assembled audience of college students and fans.

The talk took place on March 14th, but the entire conversation was professionally filmed those who weren't in the audience can view. Watch Small's appearance above via YouTube.
