See JAY WEINBERG join BOUNCING SOULS for first show since SLIPKNOT split

Drummer made guest appearance in Nashville

Last night (December 10th), drummer Jay Weinberg joined the Bouncing Souls onstage for his first live performance since his surprise split with Slipknot. The show took place in Nashville, Tennessee, where Weinberg made a guest appearance during the punk veterans' final song, "True Believers."

Hailing from New Jersey, Bouncing Souls are a fitting band for Weinberg to make his return with. The former Slipknot drummer is a Jersey native, whose dad Max Weinberg is, of course, famous for drumming for Garden State icon Bruce Springsteen.

Shortly after his ouster from the 'Knot, Weinberg underwent surgery for his hip and femur. The procedure involved repairing "the torn labrum of [his] left hip and shave down a misshapen part of [his] femur," Weinberg shared on social media in November.

Over the weekend, the drummer also took a moment on Instagram to look back at his time in Slipknot. "Today marks the 10th anniversary of becoming a part of something I grew up believing in," Weinberg wrote. "I don't hold onto many mementos, but to me these represent a decade of focused and impassioned dedication to that forward movement. Throughout that time, I learned much about application, tenacity, and the satisfaction of committing to breaking through creative thresholds; reaching those artistic goals through constant, concentrated hard work — all fueled by true love of the music.

"In some respects, the person who wore the mask on the right and the person who wore the mask on the left feel like two completely different individuals — separated only by experience gained, miles traveled, friendships created, and a connection to the instrument strengthened and deepened so far beyond what I thought was possible.

"The memories and experiences that these four masks represent, I wouldn't trade for the world. And I'm honored that you all have been there, every step of the way."
