See METALLICA talk setlist challenges, not belonging in "the cool guy club"

Exclusive clips from Apple Music interview with Zane Lowe

In late April, Metallica kicked off their M72 World Tour with a pair of shows in Amsterdam, Netherlands, featuring two entirely different sets. Along with the thousands of fans packed into Johan Cruijff Arena, Apple Music 1 host Zane Lowe was also on hand, and he would sit down there in the venue with James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Robert Trujillo and Lars Ulrich for an in-depth interview.

The full episode premieres today (May 11th) at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET on Apple Music 1, but Revolver has two exclusive clips right now to give you a taste of the conversation.

In the first (above), the Metallica guys discuss why, despite all their success, they still feel like they don't belong in "the cool guy club" — in fact, they don't really want to belong there. "We chase that but we don't want to be in it. No, we don't," says Hetfield, to which Hammett adds: "As far as I'm concerned, this is the cool guy club for me."

In the second clip (below), Ulrich digs into his role as the creator of Metallica's live setlists, a duty he takes very seriously. "I don't relish, but I accept it," the drummer says of the responsibility. "And James likes to point out, I obsess over it."

Tune into Apple Music 1 for the full interview.
