See MR. BUNGLE play "My Ass Is on Fire" for first time in 23 years

At Mike Patton and Co.'s first show of 2023

Mr. Bungle played their first show of 2023 last night at the Glass House in Pomona, California, and for singer Mike Patton, it was also his first U.S. show since February 2020.

Back in 2021, both of his main bands, Mr. Bungle and Faith No More, canceled their tour dates citing "mental health reasons" on the part of their revered frontman, and Patton didn't return to the stage until December 2022, when Bungle played six shows in South America.

Last night's gig kicked off the first of two North American tours they have lined up for this year, and Bungle treated their fans to an eclectic setlist that notably featured "My Ass Is on Fire," a song that they haven't performed in 23 years!

Taken from their iconic 1991 self-titled album, "My Ass Is on Fire" hasn't made it into Bungle's setlist since September of 2000 (according to Setlist.fm), but Patton and his all-star bandmates — Trey Spruance, Trevor Dunn, Dave Lombardo and Scott Ian — ripped through the wonky banger to a receptive crowd in California.
