See SCOWL smash shit in video for ripping new song "Shot Down"

Another catchy, scathing winner from Santa Cruz hardcore renegades

Revolver have teamed with Scowl for an exclusive colored vinyl variant of Psychic Dance Routine, limited to 500. Get yours now!

The first single from Scowl's upcoming EP, Psychic Dance Routine, was a catchy overhaul of their sound called "Opening Night." It wasn't a fake-out. On "Shot Down," the second and even better preview of the highly-anticipated release, the Santa Cruz hardcore band allow more melody to seep into their breed of snarling punk, juxtaposing a sugary, tuneful hook with blistering verses that see frontwoman Kat Moss spar with her own insecurities.

It's a helluva song, and it's amazingly fun music video pictures the band messing around in an abandoned building before ultimately smashing some shit in an act of physical catharsis. It's great, and you can watch and listen above via YouTube.

"This song is supposed to represent a battle between concealing your fears and vulnerability and desperately opening up about said fears," Moss said in a statement about "Shot Down." "I'm expressing distaste and fury towards the fearful part of myself; 'Hate you right now' is aimed at myself. 'I wanna impress, impressive sound' — I'm begging to feel confident in my own work and I feel as though this song stealthily disguises those internal fears in a bubblegum hook, only to be immediately punched in the gut with fast guitars and harsh vocals."

Psychic Dance Routine is out April 7th, and Revolver have an exclusive colored vinyl variant that's limited to just 600 copies worldwide. Get yours from our shop while they last!
