Sure, it was definitely wild to see Daniel Fang open up the Damaged City festival with Turnstile moments after leaving his hospital bed, where he had been laid up due to Coca-Cola-colored pee, but the multi-day Washington D.C.-based festival had so many other highlights to speak of. Whether it was Denton, Ohio, power-pop outfit Radioactivity, queercore legends Limp Wrist or French Oi! favorites RIXE, the weekend — scattered across several different venues in the D.C. area — had plenty to offer the discerning punk/hardcore fan in 2018.
