Slipknot Announce New Album, Debut Raging Single "The Dying Song"

'THE END, SO FAR' due in September

The end in nigh. THE END, SO FAR, that is. That's the title of Slipknot's upcoming seventh studio album, which the Iowan metal juggernaut finally announced today (July 19th), along with the premiere of explosive new single "The Dying Song (Time to Sing)."

Replete with all the pummeling metallurgy and pop-inflected hooks that their faithful Maggots know and love, the song arrived along with a kinetic music video that sees the Nine throwing down in the fractured infinity of a hall of mirrors. The clip, directed by the group's own M. Shawn Crahan, also showcases new mask variants from numerous band members, notably DJ Sid Wilson, who appears to have peeled off his human skin to reveal a robotic core. Watch and listen above.

Speaking of THE END, SO FAR, Crahan commented, in his typically cryptic way: "New Music, new art, and new beginnings. Get ready for the end."

Produced by Slipknot and Joe Barresi (TOOL, Coheed and Cambria, Queens of the Stone Age, Melvins), the album is due out September 30th on Roadrunner Records and available for pre-order now. See the cover art and tracklist below.
