Hear KING YOSEF channel GODFLESH, CODE ORANGE on new song "Cut the Cord"

An industrial-scarred metallic hardcore banger

Having cut his teeth via collabs with XXXTentacion and Ski Mask the Slump God, vocalist, producer and multi-instrumentalist King Yosef has since segued from heavy hip-hop into industrialized metallic hardcore à la Code Orange and Harm's Way.

Today, he's teamed with Revolver to premiere his latest single, "Cut the Cord," Yosef's first music since last April's An Underlying Hum LP. A caustic rager with a decidedly Godflesh-ian edge, the song draws on dark, real-life experience and comes with a gritty music video comprised of footage shot onstage and behind the scenes during a 2023 West Coast tour with Converge and Deaf Club.

Watch and listen above.

"In 'Cut the Cord,' I am processing the death of a terrible person in my life and finding that I am left with no hate," Yosef tells us of the song. "All the hate I had for this person has been transformed into a tool that makes me stronger. Hate is a tool. My life is the revenge."

"Cut the Cord" will hit digital streaming platforms tomorrow, January 12th, along with a second new track, "Shame's Mirror," a haunting industrial-rock anthem that showcases Yosef's singing voice and represents a contrasting side to his creativity.

Yosef has a busy few months ahead of him: He'll spend January in Australia, with Greg Puciato and Trace Amount, and Japan, with just Trace Amount, and then in March, he'll return stateside for an extensive U.S. tour with HEALTH and Pixel Grip. Check out the full itinerary here.
