Metal shows, by nature of the game, are supposed to be loud as hell. Ask the countless lifers who have lost their hearing after going to shows without earplugs. So what better venue to road-test the effectiveness of your soundproofing technology than a metal festival? Window manufacturer Fenplast decided to use this year's Heavy Montréal, featuring a brutal speaker-destroying lineup including Emperor, Eyehategod and Napalm Death, to challenge some of their products, constructing an enclosed room surrounded by their soundproof windows. The building acted as a nursery for a host of sleeping babies, and despite the earsplitting noise of the performing bands, the tykes weren't effected whatsoever, thanks to the windows — which proved to be not just soundproof but "metal proof."
