Nu-metal is back, and helping to make it official is "Sugar: The Nu-Metal Party," a DJ-hosted event celebrating of the musical movement that brought the world Korn, System of a Down, Deftones, and Slipknot and more. Announced today (January 24th), the traveling bacchanalia — think "Emo Nite" for nu-metal — is set to make its debut in multiple U.S. cities including Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Detroit and Atlanta.

"I think that nu-metal is one of the most impactful subgenres of heavy metal to ever exist in terms of how it rippled through the pop-culture of the time," lead DJ Brian Howe commented. "It's already been about 25 years since bands like Korn and Limp Bizkit were all over MTV and if every other culturally significant genre of music from the past 5 decades can have its own dance night why not nu-metal? As someone who loved listening to these bands as a kid and enjoys going out with friends as an adult it just makes perfect sense for us to create a 'nu' space where these bands and the genre can be celebrated."

Addition to classic nu-metal bangers, Sugar: The Nu-Metal Party will showcase tracks by the younger bands leading the genre's new wave, including Bad Omens, Code Orange, Tallah, Wargasm, Spiritbox and Turnstile. Check out confirmed dates below. Tickets are available now.
