Here at Revolver, we're always on the hunt for new songs to bang our heads to — indeed, it's a big part of our jobs. With that in mind, here are the tracks released this week in hardcore, metalcore, death metal and more that have been on heavy rotation at Revolver HQ.

For your listening pleasure, we've also compiled the songs in an ever-evolving Spotify playlist.

SeeYouSpaceCowboy - "Silhouettes in Motion"

SeeYouSpaceCowboy are always up to something inventive and off-the-beaten path, and the first single from their forthcoming third LP, Coup De Grâce, might be their most batshit creation yet — in a good way.

"Silhouettes in Motion" has the sassy vocals and tongue-in-cheek hand-claps that Connie Sgarbossa and Co. have been wielding for years, but here, Connie's brother/bandmate Ethan sounds more confident than ever in his own clean vocals. The hook is a real winner — and that breakdown is, too.

Excide - "Dis(re)member"

Back in early 2022, we dubbed Excide an Artist You Need to Know on the strength of their early EP's, which took a refreshing stab at the kind of post-hardcore that Quicksand made their name on in the early 1990s.

Since then, they've signed ot SharpTone Records and leveled up their sound significantly. "Dis(re)member" is an absolute earworm, bringing to mind Vision of Disorder and the early stuff by a modern-day band like Higher Power.

Mutilation Barbecue - "Xenomorphic Organ Rearrangement"

Between Sanguisugabogg, 200 Stab Wounds, and Mutilatrated, Ohio is an absolute hotspot for young death metal bands right now, and Mutilation Barbecue are part of that groundswell.

Listen, the song's called "Xenomorphic Organ Rearrangement" and the band's called Mutilation Barbecue. What do you think it sounds like? Yup, exactly. Dirty, nasty, gory death metal. Yum.

Mugshot - "24 Thorns" (Feat. Vomit Forth)

San Jose's Mugshot are one of many active bands straddling hardcore and metalcore, and on this track they team with Vomit Forth vocalist Kane Gelaznik to take their sound to the next level.

"24 Thorns" has grindy blasts and haggard, down-tuned death-metal riffage, but there's also a cool breakbeat part in the middle that has early Slipknot vibes. Gelaznik is a monster on Vomit Forth's music, and he does his duty here to make this as crowdkill-able as possible.

Purest Form - "Self Destruction"

We're big fans of Purest Form over at Revolver HQ. Why? Because we love industrial-metal that pulls no punches, that's as scabrous and enflamed as possible without just disintegrating into sheer noise.

"Self Destruction," from the L.A. trio's new EP, achieves that very sound and vibe. It makes us want to just start wrecking shit with a chainsaw. Or, ya know, hit the goth club. Either works.

Too Close to Touch - "Novocaine" (Feat. Noah Sebastian)

Post-hardcore troupe Too Close to Touch are honoring their late singer Keaton Pierce with one final album, which features posthumous vocals from Keaton and a bunch of guest spots from some his friends and peers.

Bad Omens mastermind Noah Sebastian makes a powerful and emotionally compelling appearance on "Novocaine," an icy, catchy post-hardcore banger that serves as a testament to Sebastian and Keaton's close friendship.
