On October 2nd in Dallas, Texas, Jane's Addiction are set to kick off their highly anticipated arena run with the Smashing Pumpkins, but unfortunately one key band member will not be joining the alt-rock pioneers. Today (September 29th), guitarist Dave Navarro bowed out of the 32-date Spirits of the Fire Tour, citing his "continued battle with Long Covid."

The guitarist broke the news in a message shared across Jane's Addiction's social media accounts, apologizing to the fans for his inability to participate in the trek. "I had hoped for a full recovery by October but I am still very fatigued and will not be able to join this leg," Navarro said. "I am personally gutted as our original bass played has returned, Eric Avery. We wanted to bring you the original line up but that will have to wait until I am recovered."

Navarro revealed that Queens of the Stone Age's Troy Van Leeuwen will be playing in his place, and while Jane's are out on the road, he will be working on new material for the band. See his full statement below.
