Fans at SICK NEW WORLD: See photos of nu-metal true believers in Las Vegas

Die-hards of all generations got their boogie on
nu-metal fans 2023 AZU

Nu-metal never died, and Sick New World was proof. The May 13th Las Vegas festival featured high-profile performances from System of a Down (their only scheduled show of 2023), Coal Chamber (their first show in eight years), Korn, Deftones, Incubus and dozens more, adding up to a kickass celebration of the genre-bending heavy-music scene's ongoing resurgence.

The music was the main draw, but the fans are what made Sick New World such a historic moment. Throughout the crowd, thousands of proud freaks, young and old (but largely young, as in too young to have witnessed nu-metal its first time around) swarmed the concert grounds. Tats, colored hair, crazy makeup and 1999-era clothing were visible from every angle, and Revolver's own Azu Rodriguez was there to capture an array of nu-metal's true believers. See some of her standout shots below.
