Hear COREY TAYLOR join former 5FDP guitarist on new FLAT BLACK song

Jason Hook's band rages on "Nothing to Some"

Last year, former Five Finger Death Punch guitarist Jason Hook unveiled his new band, Flat Black. Today, the group have unleashed their highest profile single to date, "Nothing to Some," featuring the inimitable Corey Taylor of Slipknot on guest vocals.

The song is a full-on groove-metal rager with Taylor delivering his signature harsh vocals throughout, and it heralds Flat Black's signing to Fearless Records, who will release their upcoming, as-yet-untitled debut album.

"'Nothing to Some' features the brutal and unapologetic Corey Taylor," Hook commented. "This guy is a bottomless pit of creativity and delivered a vocal that perfectly matched what I wanted for this track.

He added: "The guitar solo is unique on the album in the way that I let it rip with no rhythm guitars underneath. Now that I'm in a one-guitar band, I could strip it down and let it be as raw as Corey is on the vocal track. I remember hammering out live takes with Rob [Pierce, Flat Black drummer] pounding away next to me. It was inspiring."
