Back in November, Darkest Hour — a.k.a. one of Billie Eilish's favorite metalcore bands — offered up their first new song in six years, "Perpetual Terminal." Today, the D.C. rabble-rousers are back with a second single, the raging "Societal Bile." Blast it above via its equally hard-hitting music video.
"This song is for survivors," guitarist Mike Schleibaum commented. "While we all have our own special survival story, this song touches on the bile that immerses us as we navigate this modern life. It's also an acknowledgment of the personal responsibility we all share to ourselves to reject all that attempts to consume us and fight each day to find our own space to exist in peace with a world at war. It's dedicated to everyone who's got that survivor's disease and won't ever give up."
Both songs are off Darkest Hour's forthcoming 10th LP, Perpetual | Terminal. The long-awaited follow-up to 2017's Godless Prophets & the Migrant Flora, the album is due out February 23 through MNRK Heavy.
In addition to the new full-length, Darkest Hour also recently announced a multi-month North American tour featuring support from I AM and Somnuri, as well as Mouth for War and Filth Is Eternal on select dates. Check out the full itinerary below. Tickets are on sale now.
