Hardcore vets return with surprise 'Confusion/Chaos/Misery' EP

Boston hardcore veterans the Hope Conspiracy have made surprise return with their first release in 14 years! The band's new Confusion/Chaos/Misery EP — the follow-up to 2009's True Nihilist EP — is out now digitally through Deathwish Inc., with vinyl arriving January 12th.

The EP was engineered by Kurt Ballou and Zach Weeks, and it includes three new songs that lean into the band's darkest, heaviest, fastest side, along with a perfectly-suited cover of Swedish crust/D-beat legends Anti-Cimex's "Dogfight." It's already got us excited to hear more, and that may very well become a reality — a press release says, "This is just the beginning…" Crank the EP above via YouTube.

Hope Con's last full-length was 2006's Death Knows Your Name. Read about that album in BrooklynVegan's list of essential melodic hardcore albums of the 2000s. Over the last decade and a half, the members of the Hope Conspiracy have been active in numerous notable bands including All Pigs Must Die, Hesitation Wounds, Lies, Paint It Black, Spiral Heads and Ways Away.
