High On Fire have a new sludge-metal storm a-brewin.' Matt Pike and Co. have announced Cometh the Storm, their first album in six years and first with new drummer Coady Willis, of Big Business and the Melvins fame.

The band's ninth album overall, it was recorded at GodCity Studios with famed boardsmith and Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou, which means it's gonna sound heavy as shit.

True to its name, lead single "Burning Down" is total scorcher and you can blast it above via YouTube.

"I think this song harkens back to the early High On Fire sound, but infused with fresh, new elements," bassist Jeff Matz commented. "It has a killer groove that you can really sink into.

"The body of the song took shape in our PNW rehearsal space, and we came up with the bridge/solo section and finalized the arrangement while we were at GodCity. Kurt Ballou's input as a producer was also hugely helpful. His keen ears and fresh perspective were invaluable in making this album."

Cometh the Storm is due out April 19th via MNRK Heavy, and it's now available for pre-order in a variety of formats.

Revolver has an exclusive 2LP vinyl variant on "sky blue and spring green marble" colored wax, which is limited to just 300 copies worldwide. Grab yours from our shop.
