Back in July, Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor unleashed the first two singles off his long-awaited and much-hyped debut solo album, CMFT: the soaring, nostalgic "Black Eyes Blue" and the braggadocios rap-rock anthem "CMFT Must Be Stopped" (feat. Tech N9ne and Kid Bookie). The latter arrived with a rowdy, star-studded music video complete with cameos from Marilyn Manson, Lars Ulrich, Rob Halford, Chris Jericho, ZillaKami and more. Today (August 19th), the former gets its visual, and it couldn't have a more different vibe.
The DJay Brawner-directed music video focuses on Taylor, alone, wrangling with his inner demons in a desolate house with a powerful pull over him. He croons and emotes as members of his solo band — guitarists Christian Martucci and Zach Throne, bassist Jason Christopher and drummer Dustin Robert — occasionally pop up, until the singer finally appears to find some salvation in the end. CMFT is due out October 2nd on Roadrunner Records. Pre-orders are available now with limited-edition vinyl and merch bundles available at thecoreytaylor.com.
