See IN FLAMES' monstrous cover of PANTERA's "Fucking Hostile" in 2004

A tribute to the recently deceased Dimebag Darrell

Imagine going to an In Flames show in 2004 and hearing them bust out Pantera's "Fucking Hostile." The Swedish veterans have only performed the cover once — as a tribute to Dimebag Darrell just weeks after he was senselessly murdered onstage.

"This next song [is] dedicated to Dimebag Darrell," a dreadlocked Anders Fridén said before launching into the cover. "May he rest in peace. But the last two days, something horrible [the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami] happened in Asia and I would like to dedicate it to each and everyone who missed somebody because I know, one way or another, we're all affected by this."

The first half of the Pantera song (performed December 27th, 2004 at London's Hammersmith) was melded together with In Flames' "Behind Space," cutting in just before Dimebag's mind-bending guitar solo. The cover was unbelievably tight, performed with the same southern groove attitude as the mighty Pantera themselves.

In Flames would go on to release their "Fucking Hostile" cover as a part of their 2005 DVD, Used & Abused: In Live We Trust. Check out the awesome performance in full above.
