See Grunge Revivalists Blush Embrace Emptiness in Surreal New NSFW Video "Weary"

Pennsylvania band's new clip "laced with undertones rooted in BDSM culture, psychedelia"

Much like Cloakroom's recent output and bands like HUM before them, Blush specialize in contrasting the brutal with the beautiful — crushing guitar riffs juxtapose against sadly sweet melody to create the ultimate yin and yang.  Blush's latest video is for "Weary," a song which sits firmly in that corner, also recalling Texas titans True Widow and the late great Title Fight along the way. It's morose and beautiful, but also totally memorable and an excellent gateway into their new EP Wanderlust, out now and streaming at Bandcamp and Spotify.

Directed by Mike Petrow (Wicca Phase Springs Eternal) and art directed by Dylan Garrett Smith, the band took the the woods of Pennsylvania to capture the essence of the song: "We tried to capture the very feeling "Weary" embodies - Emptiness, vulnerability and loneliness," explains vocalist/bassist Zack Van Why. "Laced with undertones rooted in BDSM culture and psychedelia, Blush showcases the contrast between wanting to give up while still hanging on."
