For the third time in their career, Slipknot have the No. 1 album in America. That news was broken yesterday by Billboard, who reported that the masked band moved 118,000 "equivalent album units" of their sixth LP, We Are Not Your Kind, beating out Rick Ross and Trippie Redd at numbers two and three respectively. Surprisingly, Billboard also reports that 102,000 of those sales were actual album purchases, which feels like a lot in the streaming era.

We Are Not Your Kind also debuted at No. 1 in the U.K., Australia, Canada, Japan, Ireland, Belgium and Finland, and ranked in the Top 3 in Germany, France, Norway, Italy, The Netherlands and New Zealand. Slipknot previously scored No. 1 debuts with 2014's .5: The Gray Chapter, and 2008's All Hope Is Gone.

We Are Not Your Kind also marks the first time a hard-rock record has occupied the top spot since the Foo Fighters last effort, Concrete and Gold, in 2017. In general, We Are Not Your Kind has felt like a bit of a coronation for Slipknot and the critical reception has been near-universally positive.

The band is currently ripping through the U.S. on the Knotfest Roadshow with Volbeat, Gojira and Behemoth. See those dates below:
