System of a Down played their first show of 2024 over the weekend (April 27th) at Sick New World festival, which was the first time the band had been onstage together since last year's Sick New World fest.
The alt-metal weirdos — Serj Tankian, Daron Malakian, Shavo Odadjian and John Dolmayan — don't play often these days, which made their headlining set on Saturday night extra special.
However, even more special was the era-defining setlist SOAD put together, which included all the expected hits as well as some deep cuts that they haven't played live in nearly a decade.
They played "Innversision" for the first time since 2019 and "Kill Rock 'n Roll" for the first time since 2017, and then dusted off some real oldies, "Bubbles" and "CUBErt" — which they hadn't performed since 2015.
Otherwise, the stapes from Toxicity, Hypnotize and Mezmerize were played, as well as their 2020 song "Genocidal Humanoidz."
