After absolutely staking their claim to 2019, Tool are about to kick off the new year by launching the latest leg of their Fear Inoculum tour, joined by one-man industrial outfit Author & Punisher. They've also just announced a new 2020 date: a Friday night headlining slot at the Bonnaroo festival in Manchester, Tennessee.
Last year's Bonnaroo hosted two forward-thinking metal acts, Gojira and Deafheaven, and continuing the trend, the 2020 edition will feature a slew of genre-pushing heavy hitters in addition to Tool, including Primus, Tenacious D, Run the Jewels, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Denzel Curry and Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats.
As for the headliners, with Tool claiming the Friday (June 12th) spot, Lizzo and Tame Impala will top the bills on Saturday (June 13th) and Sunday (June 14th), respectively. See the full lineup in the official poster below.
Tickets for Bonnaroo will go on sale this Thursday (January 9th) at 12 p.m. EST. For additional information, including camping and packages, swing by the festival's website.
