After a 26-year long career, HIM have announced their retirement along with a farewell tour. The 35 day trek, which will kick off on June 14 in Barcelona, Spain, will reach 14 countries. The full itinerary is listed below.

Frontman Ville Valo explained: "After quarter of a century of love and metal intertwined, we sincerely feel HIM has run its unnatural course and adieus must be said in order to make way for sights, scents and sounds yet unexplored. We completed the pattern, solved the puzzle and turned the key. Thank you."

"At the end of 2017, we will be released into the wild," added bassist Mikko "Mige" Paananen. "Before this event of great transformation, we would love to offer you one last chance to experience our live performances in His Majesty's service. It shall not be a weepfest but a celebration of love metal in all its lovecraftian glory! See you there!"

Formed in 1991 by Valo, HIM are often regarded as the pioneers of the "love metal" genre. The band released eight studio albums during their career, which expanded for over two decades. The band's final album, 'Tears on Tape,' was released in 2013 via Razor & Tie.

Ultrasound.jpg

When Utah couple Makelle and Jared Ahlin were reviewing their first ultrasound photos of their child-to-be, they were greeted with quite a metal surprise; their fetus was throwing the horns! The couple sat down to speak with KPTV about their rockin' discovery, for which you can check out below.

Do you think this is the most metal baby ever? Tell us in the comments!

EllefsonCoffee.jpg

Megadeth bassist David Ellefson's boutique coffee brand, Ellefson Coffee Co., will launch the grand opening of its debut storefront between April 7-9 in Ellefson's hometown of Jackson, M.N. The event will be hosted by Ellefson as well as comedian and 'That Metal Show' co-host, Don Jamieson.

"This is our heavy metal spring break in Jackson!" exclaimed Ellefson. "We look forward to hosting some really fun events centering around my career's roots and history in the area, as well as a chance to see some amazing memorabilia from my friends in music, film and TV."

"He's (Ellefson) a Grammy-winning musician, thrash metal legend and now… Mega Barista!" added Don Jamieson. "When David and I spoke about this event I was immediately excited to jump on board. In fact, after a few cups of his Kenya Thrash blend I may just run all the way to Jackson, M.N.! So come raise a glass of java, and join us for this celebration of Ellefson Coffee."

Among the store's decor will be a special "Museum of Deth" display that will feature memorabilia from Ellefson's personal collection, including his high school marching band uniform. There will also be artifacts from artists such as Machine Head, Max Cavalera, Coal Chamber and others.

The store will sell several custom Ellefson Coffee Co. blends as well as other Ellefson Coffee products. Merchandise from Ellefson's EMP Label Group will also be for sale on site.

In addition to the launch, Ellefson, Jamieson, and 'Mysterious Minnesota' author Adrian Lee will take guests on a paranormal tour of the Loon Lake Cemetery, which is said to be haunted by Mary Jane Terwilliger, an alleged witch who was supposedly beheaded in 1881 and who served as the inspiration behind Megadeth's song, "Mary Jane."

Ellefson Coffee Co. will be located at 404 Second St, Jackson, MN, 56143. More info is available here.

RexBrown.jpg

Rex Brown (Pantera, Down, Kill Devil Hill) will release his debut solo album this year via Entertainment One (eOne). While the release date and title have yet to be revealed, Brown said in a statement that he has "been working on these songs for a long time." The album will be the first time that Brown will perform the lead vocal and guitar duties in addition to bass.

"I am thrilled to have such an influential artist like Rex join the growing Entertainment One rock family," said Entertainment One SPV Scott Givens. "He's influenced not just our other artists, but myself as well. It's an honor for all of us to work with him."

"My motto these days is 'Shake some shit up,'" Brown explained. "I've had my ups and downs, like anybody in this business. I wanted to feel like a true artist again, where I can write and record songs without worrying about any of the bullshit. This is just something else I'm doing for fun, man. And musical Freedom. Fun has to come into it or I'm not going to do it. I've had a tremendous career and now I feel like I'm twenty-five years old again. This has given me that freedom I needed."

"I've got so much more in me. I'm just getting my feet wet," he added.

Brown tracked the lead vocals, rhythm guitars and bass while working alongside guitarist and songwriter Lance Harvill and drummer Christopher Williams (Accept, Blackfoot). "Lance was and is, my main man on this. Everything we did was finely tuned, both musically and brotherly," commented Brown.

Produced by Caleb Sherman (Little Big Town, Porter Block), the album will also feature an appearance by keyboardist Peter Keys (Lynyrd Skynyrd, George Clinton).

Seether will embark on a North American tour this year in support of their forthcoming new album, 'Poison the Parish,' which is set for a May 12 release via Canine Riot Records. The trek will kick off on April 29 at the Fort Rock festival in Fort Meyers, F.L. and will conclude on August 20 in Houston, T.X. Letters From The Fire, Through Fire, Kaleido and Big Story will support the band on varying dates. The full itinerary is listed below.

Sevendust guitarist Clint Lowery will join the band on the tour as an additional member.

Frontman Shaun Morgan commented: "Goddamn, it's good to be back! We spent the better part of a year writing and recording Poison the Parish, and now it's time to get out there and play that fucker to the fans. We've been working on some upgrades to the production and the live sound, which includes welcoming our brother, Clint Lowery (from fucking Sevendust!) into the fold to help us thicken up that live sound experience.

"We want this tour to be exciting and different — a departure from what people expect from us, while retaining the qualities that make us unique, in order to entertain the fans. It's going to be loud, heavy, old school Seether with a couple of twists thrown in to keep things exciting."

Tickets will be available on Friday, March 3 at 10:00 A.M. local time. Each ticket purchase will include a physical copy of 'Poison the Parish.' Information on tickets and V.I.P. packages is available here

A portion of ticket proceeds will be contributed towards the Rise Above Fund, which is a subdivision of Suicide Awareness Voices of Education, the largest suicide prevention and awareness organization in the U.S. The organization is one of the partners for the band's Rise Above Fest, for which more details can be found at this location.

Slayer, Lamb of God and Behemoth will embark on a North American tour this summer. The trek will kick off on July 12 in Bemidji, M.N. and will conclude on August 20 in Phoenix, A.Z. The full itinerary is listed below.

"As metal tours go, this is the one that your fellow metal heads will be bragging about if you miss it!" commented Slayer's Kerry King. "Not very often I get to go on tour where we are all friends to start. That being said, the potential for greatness at these events is mind blowing. I look forward to being a part of it, and hanging with old friends – bands as well as fanatical fans! Let the festivities begin!!"

Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe added: "It's been a while since we've toured with the almighty SLAYER and even longer since we've hit the road with our friends in BEHEMOTH. I can't wait! This tour is gonna be the feel-good event of the summer — the gigs are gonna be like the Haight-Ashbury during the Summer of Love in '67! Ok, so that's complete bullshit, it's gonna be absolutely nothing like that, so don't show up with flowers in your hair looking for free hugs or anything stupid like that. It will definitely be a good fucking time though (as long as your definition of a good time means brutal, caustic, and hideously loud music) — see ya there!"

Behemoth's Adam "Nergal" Darski also commented: "It is with the utmost pride we are announcing the Slayer, Lamb of God and Behemoth summer tour! We are beyond excited to be joining this bill with these living legends and... our friends one more time! avengedsevenfold2016bandfullbwpromo_638_3.jpg

On Monday, February 20, a stagehand working the Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed and Chevelle show at the Schleyer-Halle club in Stuttgart, Germany died in an accident. He was 19 years old.

While dismantling the front lighting truss at the end of the show, a 26-year-old crew member plummeted approximately 65 feet and landed on top of the 19-year-old, who died from the impact. While the 26-year-old survived the fall, he is currently in critical condition.

Avenged Sevenfold issued the following statement via Instagram:

"We have some very sad news to report. Last night after our show in Stuttgart, Germany, a 26 year old stagehand fell from the rafters while breaking down our stage. He fell a very far distance onto a 19 year old man on the local crew. Tragically, the 19 year old died from his injuries. The other man is now in critical condition at the hospital. This is beyond heartbreaking to everyone in the band and on our crew.

"We all send our thoughts and prayers to the man in the hospital, both families involved, all of the local Live Nation crew and everyone else whose lives have been affected by this terrible accident. We love our crew so much as well as the many local staff who are essential to our show every night wherever we are around the world.

"This is such a stark reminder of how quickly an accident can happen and lives shattered in the process. When we hear more we will update you."

Disturbed also commented on the tragedy, saying:

"My brothers and sisters, my blood.

"It is with a heavy heart that we have to convey the details of the absolutely horrific accident that occurred last night at the tour's stop in Stuttgart, Germany. While the local crew were working diligently to break down and load our friends in Avenged Sevenfold's set, a young crewman, at the tender age of 19 years old, lost his life, when another crewman, aged 26, fell on top of him, while trying to take down the front lighting truss. The 26 year old crewman that fell is still alive, but in critical condition.

"The horror and heartbreak felt by everyone on the tour is beyond words. Our deepest condolences go out to that poor 19 year old's family, and our best wishes for a speedy recovery go out to the surviving crew member that fell. We love and cherish all those dedicated crew members that are responsible for making the show happen day in and day out, and this horrible tragedy is almost too much to bear. We dedicate the rest of this tour to our fallen brothers.

Life is precious and can end in an instant. Make every moment of yours count."

Revolver sends condolences to the family, friends and crew. R.I.P.
