The Ghost Inside guitarist Zach Johnson has successfully completed his 12th surgery following the band's 2015 bus crash, in which he sustained a multitude of injuries, including severely broken bones and amputated toes. Despite strides made in the recovery process, he recently underwent another major surgery for his broken femur, which had not healed properly.

Johnson shared an update from the hospital via Instagram. He explained in the post: "Surgery #12 is done. Not gonna lie, this one hurt like a bitch, but I hope it's the last. Took out the metal rod in my femur, the screws in my knee. Drilled out some bone from my right tibia, used a new incision in the middle of my leg to fuse that bone where my break was. New metal rod through the femur, metal plate over the fusion, new/bigger screws in my knee and hip. Hoping my hospital stay won't be too long! Thanks for all the well wishes."

Revolver wishes Johnson a speedy recovery. Leave your well wishes in the comments below!

In conjunction with Killswitch Engage's 'Alive or Just Breathing's' 15th anniversary, the band will release a commemorative vinyl and signature beer.

While the vinyl officially hits stores on May 12, it will be available for purchase on the band's tour with Anthrax starting on May 5. The remaining dates of the tour can be found here, while the vinyl can be pre-ordered at this location.

Additionally, Cigar City Brewing has partnered with the band to release the appropriately titled Alive or Just Brewing. With a 7.6 ABV, and featuring signature artwork of bassist Mike D'Antonio on the label, the beer is a New England-style IPA loaded with Citra, Mosaic, Motueka, and Neslon Sauvin hops, and uses white wheat and flaked oats to add additional body and a slight haziness resulting in a full, juicy hop experience.

Alive or Just Brewing is available now at select locations in New York City and Tampa, F.L. and will also be on tap at the Killthrax tour's May 5 stop at the Paramount in Huntington, N.Y.

Cigar City Brewing announced the news via Facebook along with a caption that said: "For #NationalBeerDay we thought we'd give you a peek at what we bottled today with our friends from Killswitch Engage [release details will follow soon]."

Suffocation will release '…Of The Dark Light' on June 9 via Nuclear Blast, making it the band's first effort to feature guitarist Charlie Errigo (ex-Pyrexiaand) and drummer Eric Morotti (Killitorous, Blind Witness).

Explained founding guitarist Terrance Hobbs: "The moment we have been waiting for is here. Our new album, '...Of The Dark Light', will finally be released through Nuclear Blast on June 9, 2017! Over the last four-year period Suffocation has taken its time to write this record and we couldn't be prouder. It is our most brutal record yet!

"Suffocation worked through the end of 2016 to hash out and lay down the tracks at Full Force Studios with Joe Cincotta and once again enlisted Zeuss to bring this creation to life! Myself, Frank Mullen, Charles Errigo, Eric Morotti and Derek Boyer have all pushed the limit of what SUFFOCATION is and we hope you enjoy it!

"We also had the honor of having Colin Marks handling our artwork which is a new frontier for us and a different avenue and style to the traditional Suffocation records. We also including some backup vocals from Kevin Muller (The Merciless Concept) which for us makes this album very unique! This will be our tenth studio release and we really hope you like '...Of The Dark Light'! Keep the grind alive and hope to see you on the road!"

The track listing is as follows:

1. "Clarity Through Deprivation"
2. "The Warmth Within The Dark"
3. "Your Last Breaths"
4. "Return To The Abyss"
5. "The Violation"
6. "Of The Dark Light"
7. "Some Things Should Be Left Alone"
8. "Caught Between Two Worlds"

During an interview with GQ, ex-Creed/Art of Anarchy frontman Scott Stapp, who replaced Scott Weiland in the latter band, revealed that he believed to have felt the presence of late Stone Temple Pilots singer on the tour bus where Weiland was found dead of a drug overdose. Stapp claimed that Weiland's spirit encouraged him to stay sober.

Stapp explained: "All of a sudden, it was almost like Weiland speaking to me from the grave, man. It was a very weird feeling that I felt. I remember being in the bathroom, looking in the mirror, on the bus, and really feeling like I could hear or feel him saying, 'Dude, this could have been you. And this could be you if you continue that path. Don't do what I did. Don't go down that road.'"

However, when Stapp was asked if he actually saw the apparition of Weiland, he replied: "No. God rest his soul, and my family has prayed for his family and his children, but really it was a crazy, mystical experience. It was just in my face, man. I had my moment of, like, Dude, he's speaking to me, man. Almost as if, from my standpoint, in my life and in my recovery, his death was not in vain. Not only could that have been me, that should have been me. It was just one of those weird things that kinda, like, the stars aligned, the universe arranged itself at the right time to further impact me and further solidify my commitment to my recovery. It was definitely one of those God moments. I get goosebumps right now just talking about it. It was a God moment."

AustinPain.jpg

Former Of Mice & Men frontman Austin Carlile has revealed that he will be undergoing a lengthy series of spinal injections to help repair ligaments that have been damaged due to Marfan Syndrome, a degenerative tissue disorder.

Carlile shared the news in a post via Instagram, in which he explained:

"Today's view: Been inactive on Instagram (my "Facebook" is fake) lately because I have actually been inactive. Recently started another (hopefully final) spinal treatment here in Costa Rica. This procedure is 1x a week for 2-3 months... each week a series of 12-24 shot injections into my spinal chord, muscle, & ligaments from my legs, up to hips, then, low and middle back, to repair all my ligaments in the area, plus weekly IV'S to go with it! My team recently discovered that the ligaments in my body are deteriorating faster than expected and this has been a root of some of my problems and a lot of my PAIN. So I'm taking this next #MarfanSyndromeTreatment head on! Will be a rough few weeks ahead but I have faith! God give me strength and lets go!  I will be overcoming and recovering from this before seeing some of you THIS Summer!  /// Living with #MarfanSyndrome is tough, but we are stronger... "Marfans means dealing with constant daily pain, people dealing with it must have a full reserve of strength" -Melissa Hormanski  I love you guys!!! And thank you for the support as always and I'm sorry I haven't been able to reach out to you all lately, excited to share more about this Summer though!  Un agradecimiento especial a todos en Costa Rica que me ayudan ORAN por mí el vendrá pronto! Dios bendiga!  @themarfanfoundation @marfansyndromeawareness #MarfanSyndromeAwareness"

Speaking of his illness during an interview with Revolver for our October/November 2016 cover story, Carlile said: "There are so many other people that are going through the same thing. Or it might not be Marfan syndrome, it might be something worse like cystic fibrosis, or cancer. My mom also suffered from Marfan's, and I lost her at a hospital, because the doctors there didn't know what Marfan syndrome was. She was only 38, and things might be a lot different today if they had known more about it. So I think it's kind of my responsibility to share my story; I think bringing some awareness to something like that is important." You can read the full excerpt here.

We wish Carlile the best on his treatments!
