MELVINS' Buzz Osborne on 'Houdini' at 30: Nonsense lyrics, all-time riffs, firing Cobain and more

Dave Grohl has hailed Melvins — who are commemorating their 40th anniversary in 2023 — as "the kings of the Northwest music scene" and "the heaviest band of all time," and arguably their greatest album is 1993's Houdini.

King Buzzo, for a look back on the sludge-grunge masterpiece — from writing the nonsensical opening line of "Hooch," to firing Kurt Cobain as a producer.
