Of Mice & Men have shared "Unbreakable," the band's first single with their updated lineup, which features bassist Aaron Pauley on vocals. The song, which is produced by Grammy-nominated producer Howard Benson (Sepultura, My Chemical Romance) and mixed by Grammy award winner Chris Lord-Alge (Deftones, Muse), is available below along with its accompanying music video.

"We're incredibly excited for the world to hear our brand new song, 'Unbreakable,' which is all about staring fear in the face, overcoming fear's ability to keep you stagnant, and telling it where it stands," commented Pauley. "Through this transitional time, we've felt the tremendous outpouring of love, encouragement, and support from our fans around the world, and we can't wait to see you all soon. None of this would be possible without you, and we thank you all, endlessly."

Metallica frontman James Hetfield left a video message on Iggy Pop's facebook for the icon's 70th birthday, which was on Friday, April 21. In the clip, Hetfield proceeded to take his shirt off after stating, "I think everyone there, in honor of Iggy and his 70th, should take their shirts off!" The clip can be seen here.

In the video, Hetfield said: "Hey, Iggy! Happy 70th birthday! You don't look a day over 30. I've enjoyed immensely getting to know you over this year and have nothing but respect and love for you and what you've done for rebellious music. And I just wanna say that you're not only a survivor, but a huge inspiration for me as I battle on into older age and enjoy every moment of it. So, I think everyone there, in honor of Iggy and his 70th, should take their shirts off. Yeah! Have the faith! Keep the faith, brother! Take your shirt off!"

Back in March, Pop joined Metallica live on stage Mexico City to perform "T.V. Eye" by The Stooges. Pop was the direct support for the thrash titans' three date stop at the Foro Sol venue. Video footage of the collaboration can be seen at this location.

Do you agree that everyone should go shirtless for Iggy Pop's birthday? Sound off in the comments!

Avenged Sevenfold have shared a preview of their forthcoming music video for the song "God Damn," which is taken from their latest album, 'The Stage.' Along with a teaser, which you can watch here, the band also shared a behind-the-scenes clip for the making of the video, which is available below.

The video will officially drop on April 26.

During an interview with Revolver for our February/March 2017 cover story, frontman M. Shadows explained fans' reaction to their surprise release. He said: "It's actually been really weird. A lot of people are like, 'Is it a real record? Then why didn't I hear about it? If I didn't hear about it, it must suck!' I think we were blindsided by that a little bit—that if you're doing something new and different, people think you're 'up to something,' or trying to hide something. I think we've run into more barriers being part of the rock and metal scene than what we anticipated; if Radiohead does this, they don't really get that kind of backlash. Only in our scene do you get that stuff." The full excerpt is available here.

Ides of Gemini—which features Revolver scribe J. Bennett—will release their new album, 'Women,' on April 28 via Rise Above Records. In anticipation, the band has teamed up with Revolver to premiere their new song and music video, "Heroine's Descent." Check it out below and let us know what you think in the comments!

Vocalist (who also directed the clip) Sera Timms said, "Around the time of writing the treatment for the video I had recently discovered and fallen in love with a local mausoleum built in the '20s, full of marble and stained glass. I also wanted to combine a mundane experience with a ritual experience to weave modern and ancient or symbolic planes together.

"The woman I got to play the character of 'The Maiden' is our drummer's girlfriend, Lindsay. And the Director of Photography is our friend Brian Sowell, who also plays in the band Buried at Sea. While filming we discovered that the largest urn on the central stairway belonged to Sarah Lindsay, and the largest tomb belonged to the architect, who had the last name Bryan. So me, my actress and DP were symbolically already housed in this mausoleum. As usual, we had to shoot guerilla style (without proper permits due to astronomical Los Angeles location fees) which was very challenging, but the synchronistic alignments always remind me that there is a design above the status quo which always supports the artist, the rebel and the outsider."

Layne_Unplugged.jpg

Well, kids, back in the day, before the advent of YouTube and reality television, people would actually get their music fixes from MTV. As part of being on the forefront of music television, they aired an "Unplugged" series, which featured acoustic sets from popular recording artists. Back when it first aired in the 90s, bands like Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots and the like were featured. Apart from the above-average music nerd, few can recall more than a handful of "Unplugged" performances, if any. However, there is one in the history of the series that stands alone as the most memorable of all: Alice in Chains.

Alice in Chains' appearance on "Unplugged" was the last time late singer Layne Staley ever performed live. Yes, this is in part why the performance was so unforgettable, but not simply because it was the legend's last documented time on stage, but because it was arguably the most hauntingly powerful performance in his career.

By the time the band took the stage at Brooklyn Music Academy, it was common knowledge among fans that Staley's health had been suffering. Amidst canceled tours and Staley's frequent stints in rehab, it was clear that in the battle between his addiction and his ambition, his addiction was winning. When the singer spoke between songs on the set, his frail and shaky voice provided a stark contrast to the beautiful music that he had just belted out with an impossibly chilling gusto. The pain and suffering that he had conveyed in his lyrics were translated on a deeper level with his intricate vocal melodies. Watching him on that dark, candlelit stage was like watching the "Ghost of Music Future" sing at his own funeral.

After the "Unplugged" performance, Staley's appearances became even more scarce and seldom, rarely even being seen by friends and family as he slipped into a drug-addled reclusion. Just six years after the legendary MTV set, he was found dead of a drug overdose. Fans were devastated, especially those who held out hope that he would one day get better and return to Alice in Chains, which had not officially disbanded.

Had Staley conquered his hopeless addiction, he would have turned 50 today, April 19. In honor of his birthday, we're taking a walk down memory lane and sharing his "Unplugged" performance of "Nutshell," the opening song from that legendary set. Enjoy the morbid nostalgia and let us know how you're remembering Layne Staley today!

"And yet I find/Repeating in my head/If I can't be my own/I'd be better dead." – Layne Staley, "Nutshell."

Life of Agony have shared the official music video for their new single, "World Gone Mad," which is taken from their forthcoming album, 'A Place Where There's No More Pain.' The effort is due on April 28 via Napalm Records, making it the band's debut on the label. The video, which was directed by Leigh Brooks, can be seen below.

Bassist/songwriter Alan Robert explained the song's message in a statement:

"The message behind 'World Gone Mad' could not be more relevant to what's going on all over this planet right now. People are more divided than ever, and if we continue to ignore the fact that this world is busting at its seams and just continue to 'stick our heads underground,' like the lyrics suggest, we will see a madness in our lifetime like we've never experienced before.

"With the 'World Gone Mad' video, we were really looking to break out of the typical performance video approach to capture a high concept visual. There is clearly a strong homage to horror movies such as Hellraiser and The Ring, and U.K. director Leigh Brooks of Firebelly Films went above and beyond to bring our ideas to life. It's definitely the darkest and scariest looking video we've done to date."

Musical genius. Shock artist. Wine maker. Jiu-jitsu purple belt. These are all just some of the many roles that Tool/Puscifer/A Perfect Circle frontman Maynard James Keenan has filled throughout his multi-faceted career. It's as if anything this man touches, he conquers with an essence of ease that many try to replicate, but seldom accomplish. More importantly, Keenan's musical contributions are unique in that they transcend generic labels, uniting the most diverse conglomeration of fans under the umbrella of his most legendary endeavor: Tool.

Today, April 17, the man who wears many hats is celebrating his 53rd birthday! In honor of Kennan's revolution around the sun, we're sharing a video from the days of Children of the Anachronistic Dynasty (C.A.D.), one of his earlier musical projects that pre-dated Tool. In the clip from 1987, the band performs Tool's hit song, "Sober," in its infancy. So, check it out for a little dose of nostalgia and tell us how you're celebrating the birthday of M.J.K. today!
