Slipknot typically update their masks to mark new album cycles or the start of other major chapters in the group's history. While the 2023 edition of Knotfest Japan isn't quite that momentous, the band's Jay Weinberg has chosen to mark the event with a glorious new face covering.

Today (April 1st), the drummer revealed his latest mask, a stunning, swirling black-and-white collaboration with Japanese painter Solid Blackline, specifically created for Slipknot's performances at Knotfest Japan tonight and tomorrow night. "The organic, flowing shapes of his high-contrast designs evoke feelings of mysticism and beauty, balanced within the duality of chaos and order one feels as a visitor in this wondrous country," Weinberg explained on Instagram.
