BRAD: Hear STONE GOSSARD-helmed band's new song "Hey Now What's the Problem"

Off Seattle veterans' first album in over 10 years

Back in April, Seattle rock groupĀ BRAD announced their first new album in over a decade, In the Moment That You're Born, and unveiled its sludgy lead single and title track. Today (June 16th), the band offered up another cut, "Hey Now What's the Problem," which also leans into the heavier side of the group's psychedelic sound. Stream it above via its VHS-style, collage music video (which, fascinatingly, includes a few frames of the Polish extreme-metal band Behemoth around the 1:09 mark).

Like "In the Moment That You're Born," the new song features haunting vocals from the late Shawn Smith, who died in 2019, and instrumentation by BRAD's surviving members: guitarist Stone Gossard (Pearl Jam), bassist Keith Lowe and drummer Regan Hagar (Malfunkshun, Satchel).

Smith's vocals appear on all of the impending album's 10 tracks, which include a new version of "Stars N' You," written by the late Seattle musician Andrew Wood (Mother Love Bone, Malfunkshun). The song was originally recorded by Malfunkshun for the seminal 1986 grunge compilation Deep Six. In the Moment That You're Born is due out July 28th via Gossard and Hagar's label Loosegroove Records.

Available now are an array of 30th anniversary reissues of BRAD's debut album, Shame, including colored vinyl and CD, as well as a new throwback BRAD T-shirt. Order yours at Revolver's shop.
