Slipknot are so big and well-respected in the metal world that it's sometimes easy to forget that frontman Corey Taylor had another massively popular band operating concurrent to the 'Knot's rise.

Stone Sour was the local group Taylor fronted before he was even drafted into Slipknot, and after taking a few years off for the masked maniacs to make their major-label splash, Taylor and Slipknot co-guitarist Jim Root returned to Stone Sour and recorded their 2002 debut, which went gold and earned two Grammy nominations. From there, Stone Sour released five more albums (the most recent being 2017's Hydrograd) before going on hiatus in 2020, leaving a hefty discography behind for fans to enjoy.

For an upcoming Revolver print feature, we collected fans' questions and posed them to Taylor, and die-hard Able Freeman asked which Stone Sour song he would play for someone who's never heard that band before. It was a tough choice, but Taylor gave his persuasive answer below

"Through Glass"

Probably "Through Glass" — not just because I wrote it, but because it was such a sleeper song. Like, there were only a handful of people who really believed in that song, and then when it came out, it just exploded like nothing I'd ever seen before.

So that's something I'm really proud of.
