Corey Taylor has become the first Slipknot musician to publicly comment on the band's new member. Earlier this month, the Iowa Nine suddenly announced that longtime sampler and keyboardist Craig Jones was leaving the band after 27 years on the job.

In his place, Slipknot immediately brought in a new, masked mystery member who's yet to be identified (but fans have theories). In a new interview with Chaoszine, Taylor was asked about the band's new lineup, and he shared a few brief comments about Iowa Nine's latest addition.

"Obviously, any time you have a change like that, it makes you have to kind of lean into adversity a little bit," Taylor said. "We took a little more time to kind of figure things out. Obviously, [him being a] new guy."

"[He's] good — really good," Taylor continued. "He's a total musician. But it took him a second to kind of find his way. But now he's killing it. Now he's really, really good."

Taylor's comments don't give fans who are struggling to identify the new member very much to work with, but hearing someone in Slipknot acknowledge his presence and clarify that he's fitting in with the group is a good sign.
