Hear SEEYOUSPACECOWBOY team with NOTHING,NOWHERE. on new song "Rhythm and Rapture"

SYSC embrace 2000s-style dance-punk on collaborative single

SeeYouSpaceCowboy are back with another new single, the follow-up to last month's "Chewing the Scenery." The new one is called "Rhythm and Rapture," and it's a collaboration with their upcoming tourmate nothing, nowhere., whose latest album, VOID ETERNAL, also features a song with SeeYouSpaceCowboy.

"Rhythm and Rapture" finds SeeYouSpaceCowboy going in a 2000s-style dance-punk direction, as singer Connie Sgarbossa explained: "This song was created out of a desire to mix '00s dancey indie rock like Foals, Cut Off Your Hands and Bloc Party with a post-hardcore sound. We wanted to create a song in a style we've never done before that really reflects the variety of what we grew up listening to."

Sgarbossa continued, "Outside of just nostalgia, wanted to make something that was more focused on being dancey and fun like parts we had all the way back in the Songs For The Firing Squad era, but with less dissonance and more embracing the joy of simplicity. Even though it sounds like a wild departure it has its roots in stuff we have done with SYSC in the past, just expanded and with a different flavor."

nothing, nowhere. added, "I'm honored to have been a part of this track with SYSC. They're one of my favorite bands and are always pushing boundaries."

The nothing, nowhere. and SYSC tour, which also includes Static Dress and UnityTX, begins tonight (September 5th). SeeYouSpaceCowboy will also open the Chicago date of Poison The Well's just-announced You Come Before You 20th anniversary shows in January. All dates below.
