Today (May 26th), rising San Antonio rock band A Way Out dropped their debut single, a statement of intent that fittingly shares the group's name. Championed by Richard Wicander, drummer of Fire From the Gods, the quartet pull inspiration from the nu-metal of the late Nineties and early 2000s, bringing to mind the hooky, angsty, electronics-spiked sound of Linkin Park and Bring Me the Horizon.
Lyrically, "A Way Out" draws on the band members' personal struggles, touching on themes including toxic relationships, mental health struggles, and the battle with addiction. The single arrived along with a high-octane music video that underscores the song's ultimately hopeful message.
