The Cult will kick off their 40th anniversary plans with an exclusive interview and performance on the January 12th episode of The Howard Stern Show. Ahead of the official air date, video of their performance of "She Sells Sanctuary" has hit the internet — watch above.
Stern has previously pointed to "She Sells Sanctuary" as his favorite song of all time, so the performance made for a particularly special moment, especially since January 12th marks the media personality's 70th birthday.
The date is also just one day off from the Cult's actual 40th anniversary: On January 13th, 1984, the group's core duo of Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy announced their transition from Death Cult to the Cult via the UK's Tube TV.
